Indian Wedding Couple Comedy

Omi and Minal were married on August 22nd, 2008 at Palmdale Estates in Fremont and then had their wedding reception at the Fremont Marriott. Prior to the couple being announced to their 350 reception guests, we had some time to take some photos around the hotel. We went in the closed restaurant, in the lobby, out front, shot a variety of things, everywhere, and then decided to hit the workout room. We got shots of the bride and groom on the stair climbing machines, lifting wights and more! What is so great is that, this type of guerrilla wedding photography really fits the bride and groom’s personality and style. That is what being a wedding photographer is all about. You need to really get to know your clients, so they can be themselves, and only then, will you be able to truly capture their essence and create work they will appreciate forever.

So in the midst of our goofiness, we shot this clip of video on my Canon 5D Mark II. Have fun!

Nidhi and Somesh Highlights Reel | Casa Real, Livermore | Ruby Hill

Spent a wonderful week editing the epic wedding of Nidhi and Somesh and it’s finally complete! I feel like I am an expert on photographing at Indian weddings now since I have went through all the footage so thoroughly….Maybe I will start dreaming in Sanskrit! But really, I love shooting Indian weddings because of the strong sense of tradition and culture, and the tight family bonds that Indian families typically have. Of course I love the colors too, but I also enjoy learning about people, and creating films and photos like these helps me do just that!

Nidhi and Somesh are some of the coolest people I know and I loved their wedding. This is what WeddingDocumentary.com did for them!

The three DVD set includes a 1.5 hour Sangeet video, a 1.5 hour Ceremony DVD, which also has the Barat, family photo sessions, and more on it, as well as, a final DVD for the reception which is another 1.5 hours! And we included a slide show which, you can see in the next post!

Here is a 5 minute recap of the best moments during the wedding day, which took place at the beautiful Ruby Hill winery called, Casa Real. This spectacular event center can accommodate large groups, so if you have 550 people attending your wedding, this is a great place to have it!

This highlights reel was shot with the Canon 5D Mark II camera, as well as, a Canon A1, and HV30 for the Mundap cam. Enjoy and leave some comments!

Sangeet Video Introduction

The “Sangeet” is like a pre Wedding Ceremony party in Indian culture. It is where the two sides of both families come together and get acquainted and celebrate prior to the big wedding day. In old times, the Sangeet could go on for days, but now, many do the Sangeet in one evening prior to the day of the ceremony.

This is an example of some of the montages that I love to create to music. The bride and groom choose the song, and I turn it into something like this! I recommend cranking your speakers!

Kristy and Chris | Wedding Highlights

Here is the highlights reel from Kristy and Christopher’s wedding that took place at the Martinelli Event Center in Pleasanton on May 30, 2009. We mixed footage from the XH-A1 HDV camera, with the 5D Mark II for some of it and it was a lot of fun! We definitely will be shooting a lot more on the 5D Mark II, especially for getting ready sequences where all we need are short 5-10 second shots.

We are so happy for Kristy and Chris and we recently placed their album order as well and it should be done soon! We have a total of five parent albums coming because Kristy wanted four and I wanted one. We also are ordering some of the mini books and I can’t wait to give those out as my business cards.

I don’t know how many other photographers do both photo and video at the same time, but I think I am getting pretty good at it. With a team of three people, we can do two photo cameras and three video cameras all at the same time. Pretty cool huh?
