We had an amazing three days working with Sonya and Satindar for their wedding events. The Hindu wedding and reception was the last day of the three. Sonya chose a beautiful pink and silver Lengha for her big day and a gorgeous blue one for her reception. Amrit from Anais Planning & Events did a fabulous job on the decor and flower arrangements, along with a stellar Spring time Mandap. Their Priest, an American Pandit, came all the way up from San Diego to perform the ceremony for this lucky couple.
The day started with both the bride and groom prep, before we headed to the wedding and reception venue, Palm Event Center in Pleasanton, CA. We had the bride and groom do a “first look” and then proceeded to do all the family photos before the ceremony. We do this because that is when the bride’s makeup looks best and before everyone gets sweaty in the heat. Once we had completed the portraits, the wedding ceremony began. The Priest, being able to eloquently explain all the Hindu wedding steps in perfect English was great for everyone in the audience because it was clear, thorough, and very organized. The ceremony was gorgeous, with the vineyards in the background of their Mandap.
Once the ceremony was complete, guests mingled outside for cocktail hour and we shot all the decor inside the event center. The grand entrance was a lot of fun and everyone transitioned into party mode to greet the couple! There were games, toasts, a cake cutting, and then the first dances. Dinner was Greek/Mediterranean food, in the spirit of where the Bride and Groom were to be visiting for their honeymoon right after the wedding.
The party continued until about 11pm when all the guests formed two rows outside and we officially sent off the couple amidst a sea of sparklers! We wish these two the best of luck and hope you have enjoyed their wedding images! Please leave your comments below as we love to hear from our readers!
