Nisha and Rishi are an outstanding couple with warm hearts and such beautiful smiles! This traditional Hindu wedding was very easy to film because they allowed us to tell their beautiful wedding story in an entertaining and elegant way. We arrived at their wedding venue early in the morning, having already shot their Sangeet the night before the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. Nisha and Rishi chose the Fairmont San Jose for their wedding and reception which was the perfect choice because this property offers so much in terms of service, beautiful rooms, and an elegant ballroom that they could do both the ceremony and reception in.
We filmed them from the early morning preparations well into the night during the party and everything in between. Our team made sure to use a variety of angles (seven cameras actually) to make sure nothing was missed! The exceptional coverage allows us to tell stories that are greater than how our memories perceive these fleeting moments.
Christal from Artistry by Christal did a beautiful job on Nisha’s makeup, as well as her Sari tying. Laura from Floramor really outdid herself at this event too and did a spectacular job organizing everything to make the day run smoother.
What we love about this highlight is how we decided to interweave the “getting ready” throughout the entire piece. Instead of telling the story in a linear fashion, we decided to break up the different scenes by going back and forth between them, giving the viewer an opportunity to see the past and present without bombarding them with one scene too long. We spent considerable time making sure all the shots matched each other in terms of story, pacing, and for continuity. We are really thrilled with the results and think it makes an excellent cinematic film that the couple can share with their friends and family.
