I have known Samira for a while now. We first met at her sister’s wedding a few years ago. I knew one day she would find the right guy and I had hoped she would give us a call and one day this Spring she did!
Samira met Varun online and they quickly hit it off. While Varun who is originally from Las Vegas lived in Los Angeles, the two made trips back and forth between the Bay Area and LA to see one another over a few months of their courtship. Varun asked her to marry him and she said yes and their summer wedding planning began! Since everyone loves Las Vegas it seemed like the perfect place to hold their events!
For their engagement session Samira chose the famous Castello di Amorosa winery in Napa. This place is an exact replica of a castle from Tuscany Italy and it is a tourist destination in its own right. The grounds are stunning and everything inside is just as beautiful. I was overwhelmed with the photographic possibilities of the property and shot a ton of shots in all the various spots there. We had perfect weather and I was really excited for these two as they had great enthusiasm throughout the shoot and we got really great shots because of it.
Samira being a “bit of a poser” definitely helped out! She had three outfit changes and even brought props for their 1950’s diner theme shots that we took at Gott’s Roadside Cafe down the street from the winery. These images turned out to be some of my favorites since they involved vintage cameras and cool suitcases which are really fun to photograph.
