In our last blog post we showed you Sonam and Harjit’s Hindu wedding at the San Ramon Marriott. The very next day they had a Sikh wedding and reception at the San Jose Gurdwara. Since the bride and groom wore the same wedding attire, we shot the bride getting ready for the Hindu wedding and then for the Sikh wedding we shot the groom getting ready. This was the first time we had dome something like this but it made perfect sense. The couple did an excellent job planning the two ceremonies and how logistically it would all work out. That was good because we did a same day edit in the evening for the reception.
We started with Harjit getting ready in the Silver Creek area. Once he was ready we headed over to the Sikh temple in San Jose for the start of his second Baraat! After the Milni, the ceremony began and Sonam walked down the aisle. Instead of having a large number of guests, the bride and groom limited the number to their closest friends and family. This made it nice to shoot as we could focus more on the guests without just shooting wide shots of a sea of people.
After the ceremony the bride and groom did some portraits with us before heading to Fairmont San Jose where we had the reception. Since we were doing a same day edit film, we compiled all the last shots from the Sikh ceremony and included them in their film. We also shot more getting ready shots before their grand entrance. The film played and then the bride and groom entered and their program was filled with great events such as performances by professional dancers, speeches, cake cutting, and more.
We had the best weekend with Sonam and Harjit. They are truly genuine and have been in love with one another for over 10 years before they got married. They have such a sweet story and are so honored that they chose us to capture their special day!
