Manu and Bhollo had a beautiful Sikh wedding in Virginia with their portrait shoot in Washington D.C. right after the ceremony. The day started very early with the bride and groom prep shots. The night before we were shooting until almost 1am so I think we had just about 2-3 hours of sleep before we started shooting again.
We headed to the temple for the groom’s Baraat that included a horse and a procession of his Bay Area family arriving at the footsteps of the Gurdwara. After the Milni where the two families exchanged garlands, everyone headed inside and the ceremony began. Manu looked stunning as she walked down the aisle and their beautiful ceremony lasted about an hour. Lunch was served outside the temple to guests and the bridal party got ready to head to DC for our photo session that we planned to do at our nation’s capital in Washinton D.C.
It was a very hot and sunny day and it felt like the sun was directly overhead. Even though the odds were against us we got some amazing shots of both the couple and their bridal party around the rose garden and at the Capitol building. After a couple of hours it was time to head back into Virginia for the bride’s Doli at her home. From there she would depart to be one with Bhollo from this point onward.
We are so happy that would got to capture these wonderful memories and experience the East Coast with Manu + Bhollo. In the next post we will show their wedding reception that took place back in California in Sacramento!
