A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing Divya and Ryan’s wedding at the San Jose Fairmont Hotel. Besides being really awesome people, they both have really awesome families! We had such a great time covering their wedding and Sangeet that both took place at the luxury hotel.
The first night was the Sangeet where the two families but on some amazing skits and performances. Ryan’s dad, who is also named Vijay is quite the showman and is also a great singer. They performed a very elaborate skit that rooted in a story about Divya and Ryan in a very Bollywood way!
The next day we started the day with both the bride and groom getting ready. I love Ryan’s reaction when he sees her for the first time dressed as his soon to be wife. The Baraat was in the courtyard outside and we have some epic aerial shots that we did with our DJI Inspire Quadcopter. This amazing machine shoots 4k video, as well as, 60 frames per second 1080P and is amazing stable, even in the gusts of wind that we had.
Their traditional Hindu ceremony took place in the Club Regent room and we included all the most parts of the Hindu ceremony here in this short cinematic edit. The bride and groom changed for the reception and we again did another shoot with them prior to their grand entrance into the reception which was held in the Regency Ballroom.
Lots of great speeches are the backbone of our story, as well as, interviews that we did with the couple. Both the bride and groom exchanged letters to each other during their getting ready segment and that adds a lot of content to the edit, as well as, making the film unique and personal.
We really love capturing traditional Hindu weddings at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. It is such a pleasure to work at a venue we love so much. Telling a couples story through still and moving images is such a blessing and we are thankful for being able to work for such amazing couples as Divya and Ryan!
