Sahana and Rohit had a beautiful multi-day Indian wedding at the Santa Clara Marriott and we were so honored to document it! We love shooting Indian weddings at the Marriott because they have great ballrooms and because the parking lot is perfect for Baraat processions!
Christal from Artistry by Christal did Sahana’s hair and makeup and she made the bride picture perfect! I love photographing South Indian brides who have the braid and wear the traditional Saree. It is a lot different than North Indian style dress, which is where Rohit is from. For that reason, half way through the ceremony, Sahana went back to her room to change into a Lengha, and then returned to finish the remaining steps of the Hindu ceremony. That way, they could incorporate both their cultures during their ceremony.
It’s really cool for us when the bride is from one part of India and the groom is from another. They blend the two cultures together sort of forming a new type of ceremony all together. Sometimes, there is new stuff we get to see because of it because each family has their own traditions. Although we have seen many different small rituals within the Hindu ceremony, it is always great to see and learn about new ones.
Sahana and Rohit are a lot of fun to photograph and hang out with. We had a wonderful time doing portrait sessions with them throughout the day and we absolutely love these images. Scroll through some of our favorites below and leave us a comment. We would love to hear from you!
