We meet up with the Bhuva’s every year for their annual family photoshoot! This year we met in the morning in San Mateo for their shoot at the park!
We love this time of year because the trees have fall colors and they look really good in the background. We also choose to shoot in the morning or late afternoons for our shoots so we can get the best light when the sun has “directionality” to it.
You always want the sun coming at an angle so you can use it as a “backlight” which is a natural hair light and keeps people from squinting. Then in front of the subjects, we use either soft fill flash or reflectors to fill in the shadows and create pleasing light on the faces.
We love family shoots because we get to see how families grow and we get to catch up and just have a good time! And yes, we will always include one silly photo because the kids always love it!
