Amrit and Harjeet are an awesome couple that we are looking forward to working with over 30 hours for their weeklong wedding events! The bride is from the Bay Area and the groom is from Fresno so the bride’s events will all be in the Bay Area including the wedding, while the groom will be hosting the reception down in Fresno on the final day of the wedding.
We met for their pre wedding engagement photo shoot in San Francisco at Lands End! Although it was foggy, the lighting was great do to the clouds creating the soft light. We started up top by the trees and then headed to the cliff areas where we can get these stunning landscapes with the ocean in the background.
After Lands End, we headed to Baker Beach where the couple could walk on the beach and do a second more casual outfit. Although normally, one can see the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, on this day, it was too cloudy, but this look I really enjoy as it is much different than a lot of other shoots we have done.
We shoot a mix of photo and cinema so that when we create the next day edit and/or wedding highlights, we have shots to include in the final film. I can get both photo and cinema shots all by myself and it really is fluid for me to work with this way at engagement shoots.
Engagement shoots are a great way for the couple to bond as well. It is a once in a lifetime experience to do a shoot “before” they are married. After they are married they can do several shoots later in life and family shoots, baby shoots, etc, but there is something “special” about that engagement shoot before they were married.
