Back in 2009 I had the pleasure of meeting Shikha when I photographed her older sister Nidhi’s wedding. A couple years later we photographed her other sister’s wedding Nupur, down in San Diego. Now it is finally time for Shikha to get married and she is really appears Neil is the perfect guy for her! This is such an amazing honor for us to work with this great family once again!
We had a great time meeting up in the Embarcadero just steps away from Shikha’s apartment. I wanted to get casual shots of them just hanging out like they normally do when they see each other every couple weeks because Neil lives down south at the moment. They have great chemistry together and make a wonderful couple. From the family’s past events I know this upcoming wedding will be full of fun, beautiful smiles, and a great party!
What I love most about this shoot is that nothing was really planned in terms of locations. Basically it was a photo walk. We walk and I shoot as I see different places, different lighting that I like, various backgrounds, textures, and colors. This is my favorite type of shooting because it lets me be more creative than lets saying shooting at tourist spots or monuments that limit you more because the expectation is to get a certain type of shot.
With the spontaneous approach comes more interesting and unique shots and images that are more authentic because of it. It was a ton of fun hanging out with them and we are super excited for their events over Thanksgiving weekend coming up next month!
