Vinita + Harold | Engagement Shoot in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is one of my all time favorite places to shoot because I love the beach! We had a rockin session there with Vinita and Harold not too long ago and we had the most amazing time capturing these images.

We started at Wilder Ranch just up highway 1. It’s a state park with a lot of old buildings and barns, including animals, gardens, and even a small pumpkin patch! Every and any backdrop I could want were all at my fingertips. I especially loved the barn with the narrow strip of light coming in through the window, or the way the Aloe Plants were so huge that you could go inside them and use the light coming in from above as the “key light”. A feline friend wanted to be in the picture and if I could have got the goats out of the pen for a shot I would have!

The weather was insanely perfect and there was even a catalog photo shoot happening at the same time. We were fortunate enough to get to use some of their props which worked extremely well for the vintage theme we were going for. The field with pumpkins was super cute as this shoot took place right before Halloween and what better way to display the engagement ring on Halloween than on a pumpkin.

Wanting to catch the end of sunset, we headed to Natural Bridges State Beach. The air was warm, and the sun was golden. We had an amazing window of light and then a very nice low tide to boot. Vinita and Harold are so cool that they actually agreed to getting wet for an amazing shot of them in the water! Thanks guys! 🙂

These two bring entirely different cultures and traditions together in perfect harmony. Their wedding will be an event to remember and we cannot wait to capture even more moments to be cherished forever!
