We had the pleasure of meeting up with Swathi and Bharat for their engagement session in Santa Cruz at Wilder Ranch State Park. This is a cool spot 15 minutes away from downtown Santa Cruz that has a very cool farm vibe. We got amazing shots with the architecture of the building, the interesting slices of light in different places, and the natural beauty of their trees and flowers.
We like to do locations and outfits for our engagement photo shoots so we headed down to Natural Bridges State Beach for our next spot. What I like about this beach is the easy parking and access, the area of trees up top, and the combination of a beautiful beach, and rock formations for the couple to sit on for more variety of shots.
When shooting around sunset, the light at Natural Bridges forms a perfect backlight on the subjects and makes for a more romantic feel. The sun also creates a golden hue on the rock formations in the ocean that the beach is famous for.
Natural Bridges is one of the most popular places in Santa Cruz to watch the sunset and is one of my favorite places to do engagement photos in the Bay Area. Fun fact, my sister got married at Natural Bridges Beach and I walked her down the aisle!
