Meritage Resort and Spa is one of our favorite venues in Napa for Indian weddings! We love this property so much for all the various spots for photos! For Bay Area residents, it is a convenient destination wedding retreat!
Malerie and Sean had two days’ worth of events there that we covered including the Hindu wedding and Sangeet in the images below.
We arrived early for getting ready shots of both of them and took them up to their Mandap area for a first look before the ceremony. This way they could get photos with their Mandap before all the guests arrived, and the flowers at the top of the hill where the ceremony is are stunning!
When we headed back down, the groom started his Baraat and all the guests partied up until the staircase where everyone has to walk up to get to the ceremony. At the ceremony site, the room for movement can be a little tight so we placed several cameras in unique places for the film that did not block the guests’ view.
Once the ceremony was over we did some sunset shots that came out stunning and then the couple changed and guests took a break before returning to the ballroom for the Sangeet night!
The reason for the Sangeet after the ceremony is that they were planning a western style wedding the following day and this was a way to have a party with song and dance in the evening that all the guests were staying at the hotel.
Sean’s family and friends and super musical and even Malerie’s family did a very cool performance! It was great to see everyone bond!
