Amrita + Sandeep | San Jose Gurdwara Sikh Wedding

What a fun wedding this was! Amrita and Sandeep are two of the nicest people one can meet! Sandeep is super funny and outgoing and Amrita is fun and just super chill! We had a great time working with them over several days capturing all their events.

On the wedding day, we got to the bride and groom’s houses super early to capture all the details of their outfits and their getting ready. This is the time we get to be creative with details like jewelry, shoes, etc. Since is was dark outside, we used video lights because “what you see is what you get” and it works great for both photo and cinema.

We headed to the temple and since the bride arrived before the groom, we did the bridal portraits at the Gurdwara. The lighting is so beautiful in the morning and it better than the bride just sitting in the small women’s lounge and not getting any photos!

The ceremony was beautiful and even though the bride is Sindi and not Punjabi, they did the entire week as a full-on Punjabi wedding. At the house after the ceremony though, the groom did apply Sindoor to the bride’s forehead and they also did a wedding ring exchange.

Stay tuned to our blog for their reception at the San Ramon Marriott coming soon!
