The layout below is an example of a Sikh Wedding album design that is 50 pages with a book size of 13×9.5. It will lay flat and the spine down the center is invisible so images can go across the spine. This number of spreads is a good starting point for all multiday weddings and 13 inches by 9.5 inches means the book is large and easy to view the amazing photographs but is also portable enough for people to carry it, view it on their lap, bring a to a family member’s home, etc.
The cover can be leather with printed image on the front in either acrylic, metal, or wood cover! This one we had printed with the acrylic cover which is our most popular option. We had this album directly “drop shipped” to the bride so we don’t have the outside to show but it is gorgeous! We have other blog posts where we show the physical albums. Since it is quicker for our couples to get them directly drop-shipped, we are leaning on that more and more these days so we will be mostly posting just the design spreads on these posts so you can see what the album designs look like.
Our Album Design Process
After the wedding and receiving their gorgeous images, our couple chooses their favorite images from all their events and places the file numbers in a google spreadsheet and emails it to us.
We take their list of images and do the design layout and send a “proof for review”. This is usually done within 1-2 weeks.
The couple reviews the album and submits any changes they would like to the design. For example removing or adding images, moving images etc. We aim to have this done within one week.
Once the changes are submitted we send a final proof to be signed off on and then we upload the design to our album maker to have it hand-printed and assembled before being shipped to our couple.
The entire process can take 4-6 weeks on average and is largely dependent on “how fast the proof is approved”.
