Last summer we shot Nirav’s sister Krishna’s wedding. We are so excited to now share Nirav’s wedding here on the blog! The very first event of the Hindu wedding is the Ganesh Pooja. This prayer to the God Ganesh, is asking for a good wedding free of obstacles.
This was the only event that took place in the Bay Area. Later in the week, we travelled down to Southern California where the bride’s family is from and where all the remaining wedding events were held.
Family and close friends gathered at Nirav’s house for this Pooja and it was followed by the Pithi ceremony where a yellow paste is applied to the groom. He got a ton put on him and it was really funny to see how much paste his friends got him with. That was the end of the day and we continue the rest of this awesome wedding down in Southern California!
