Happy Monday! We are so excited to share Maryam and Scott’s wedding images on our blog today! They are absolutely adorable together and their matrimony is the perfect fusion of Persian and American cultures.
Maryam and Scott chose the beautiful Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn as their venue for their special day. It was a sunny Fall afternoon and everything was stunning, including the bride’s dress, jewelry, shoes, and flowers. Once the bride and groom we were ready we did the “first look” on the bridge that sits over the creek that runs through the property. We also recommend doing a first look because it allows the couple to get many more portraits because after the ceremony time is tight when the cocktail hour and reception immediately follow the ceremony.
After some portraits and bridal party shots we prepared for the ceremony that Scott’s dad officiated. They had really nice vows and a guitarist playing light music. We definitely appreciated the length. It was not too long and not too short! Perfect for their guests who enjoyed every second of it.
After the ceremony the bride and groom had a receiving line so they could greet each of their guests. This was very nice because we got a shot of each and every person that attended the wedding. We then proceeded to do family photos, and then more couple portraits before heading inside for their grand entrance to the reception.
What made their wedding really fun was the mix of cultures, music, and food. Maryam being Persian, they played a ton of awesome Persian dance music, as well as, having Persian cookies, which are my personal favorite!
At Persian weddings they do rounds of dancing so there was a total of three rounds that occurred with speeches, dinner, and toasts in-between. This is nice because it gives everyone short breaks and keeps everyone’s blood flowing.
Photography was of utmost importance to Maryam and Scott, like many of our couples and their day and photographs are simply perfect! We can’t wait to photograph another wedding at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and many more Persian weddings!
