Mounica and Ramnik kicked off their fusion Hindu/Sikh wedding week with the Mehndi event at the bride’s home.
It began with the bride getting her Mehndi done in her living room and hanging out with friends and family. Then as the Punjabi tradition goes, the groom’s family came all together to the event and were greeted by the bride’s family and they brought gifts for the bride.
We did lots of family photos with everyone who attended and ended the event with taking the couple down the street to an open field during golden hour.
The Mehndi event is an important one when it comes to Indian weddings because it is the first time we are meeting the families and that helps us understand who is who and gets everyone comfortable with us. It helps a lot for the rest of the weekend’s events!
