Get ready for a stunning set of images! Preeyanka and Nikhil had a gorgeous Hindu wedding and reception at Castlewood Country Club a few weeks ago. We were honored to do their photography and cinematography for their special day! The Mandap setting could not have been more perfect and the weather was outstanding.
Our bride was done up by the fabulous Christal Saville from Artistry by Christal. She is amazing at doing clean and fresh makeup that looks natural but photographs really well! She is also a pro when it comes to pinning Chunnis and wrapping Saris. Preeyanka already had flawless skin and a radiant smile so Christal just accentuated it perfectly!
The day started off very chill and easy going. We prepped our gear and had our five person crew work on the various aspects of the day including bride prep, groom prep, establishing shots, decor shots, and setting up of audio for the ceremony among other things.
Our couple did a first look and then we proceeded to do some couple portraits because after the ceremony time would be tight as they were doing a complete hair and makeup change for the reception. These amazing portraits are some of my favorites as they both look amazing together!
Nikhil then headed to his Baraat which wrapped around the entire property before landing at the Mandap site. After a blessing from Preeyanka’s mother, the wedding began with the Groom performing the Ganesh Pooja. A ritual which removes obstacles from the wedding day. As the bride began her trip down the aisle there were oo’s and awe’s from the crowd of how stunning Preeyanka looked. This was a fairytale wedding at its best. One of our favorite Pandits performed the ceremony and what even made it better was that he is the Grandfather of the groom!
After the ceremony we had a great family photo session and then the bride and groom prepared for the reception while our team concentrated on decor shots and capturing some of the energy during cocktail hour. The rest of the event included lots of wonderful speeches, dance performances, cake cutting, and slideshow. When the dance party started DJ Salim rocked the house and even though it was a Sunday night almost everyone remained on the dance floor until the end of the night!
