One of the best places to get married in the South Bay Area is Hayes Mansion! This place is magnificent! The outdoor ceremony space is very nice and their landscaping is impeccable. The beauty of the white historic mansion leaves guests in awe as it is such a unique building amongst the urban San Jose environment where it is located.
Reena and Thomas are very down to earth and chill people! We had such a great time working with them because they were very relaxed and easy to photograph. We captured a ton of candids, which are our favorites! Reena’s dad is a photographer so he definitely knew what he was looking for when it came to pictures of his daughter’s wedding. Thomas, is also a photographer and filmmaker and he shot and edited a documentary about their proposal and trip to India and they showed the film at the reception. We were blown away of how he told an amazing story with mostly the use of a Gopro. Reena’s dad provided the still photos for the piece and it was definitely the highlight of the reception.
The colors at this wedding were amazing so I didn’t try to get to crazy with effects. When a scene has it all why mess with it is what I was thinking! At night time I love busting out the off camera flash for dramatic portraits while the sky is still blue but it’e getting darker. We loved so many of these shots the blog post for this one is quite long but we think you will enjoy it!
