Hopefully you enjoyed viewing the beautiful wedding of Roohie and Shan here in our last blog post. Now it is time for the Valima, which is the wedding reception that takes place the following day either after the Nikkah or Mehendi night.
A popular spot for these events in the Bay Area is definitely Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon. It has a beautiful exterior and interior which makes it a favorite of mine for shooting portraits. Most importantly it has two rooms, one large ballroom and one smaller room making it perfect for events where the women will be in one room and the men in the other. Roohie and Shan decorated it beautifully and we loved capturing all the details, as well as, all the family photos in front of the backdrop.
Roohie and Shan were so fun to photograph! We got a ton of shots of them indoors and outdoors. This time of year gave us beautiful natural light and the weather was perfect. It doesn’t get much better than this! We even took a drive down the street to the waterfalls outside of the venue. This spot is wonderful to do some slow shutter speed portraits to make the water look silky.
The event included great speeches, a wonderful dinner, a dessert station, and beautiful and timeless family portrait session. Enjoy!
