Having grown up and living in Los Gatos means it’s always nice to photograph a wedding 10 minutes from my house. What I find is that others that were raised here as well tend to stick around and even get married around here. That was the case with Stephanie and Chris’ wedding at Regale Winery in Los Gatos that I photographed this winter. Stephanie and I went to school with one another starting at Fisher Middle School and then Los Gatos High. She saw a lot of my photography on Facebook since that is how most of us stay in touch with one another, and then when she became engaged she asked me to be her wedding photographer!
It’s always an honor to work with someone from our childhood. Often times I get to see other people I went to school with and it becomes a reunion of sorts. This was my first wedding that I have photographed at Regale Winery, which is just up Summit Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is beautiful! I loved the dramatic sky as it had just rained the day before. The sun was trying to poke through and created some very beautiful light. Everything about Regale Winery was classic, yet modern. It is a fairly new building but it has that old spanish feel which I really love!
The wedding took place on 12-12-12. This day is very special and what made it even more special is that Stephanie walked down the aisle at 12:12pm! It was a Wednesday but a really memorable day to get married. After the short ceremony we had a quick portrait session before the guests were invited to sit for lunch. There were a couple of toasts, a first dance, and a photo booth for guests to enjoy. We really look forward to sharing many more happy memories with Stephanie and Chris and we cannot wait to photograph another event in our hometown of Los Gatos!
