The Kurmai ceremony is an event that takes place before the groom’s engagement to his bride. It is a function that typically is done at the groom’s home or it can be done at a Gurudwara.
For Taren’s Kurmai, it was a hot day down in Fresno and they set up a lavish tent outside with large fans to keep everyone cool. A wonderful breakfast was served before the ceremony and then the ceremony took place which involved the family and all invited guests to pray and listen to hymns. Once the ceremony is over, everyone gets photos with the groom-to-be and lunch is served.
