As we near the end of the year we are so happy to look back at all of our weddings that we had the honor of capturing this year. 2015 was the best year yet in terms of how many we shot, but also in the quality of the events themselves. Each wedding seems to get better and better with better and we are always getting better and better.
Tina and Michael are friends of our past clients and contacted us for their wedding. Although we had already planned to go out of town for a destination wedding the day of their wedding, Tina really wanted us for her events. We could not let her down so we changed our flights to leave a day later so we could be here for their events. For three days we captured every event and detail and were able to witness many magical moments. Tina did a wonderful job making sure everything looked great so we could get amazing photos. Tina chose a dress by Vera Wang and her shoes were by Louis Vuitton.
The venue for their ceremony and reception was Calistoga Ranch . It was our first time photographing at Calistoga Ranch and I must say, it was really amazing! The views are spectacular and you really feel like you are in the great outdoors at this place! To get around, you have to go by golf cart which are only operated by staff at the venue. It was a little challenging getting gear from place to place, but I think we will have it down next time around.
Tina and Michael’s intimate ceremony took place in the vineyard down at the bottom of the hill. Guests then proceeded up the hill where there is a flat portion overlooking a lake. Dinner was served and a live band played while guests enjoyed their entrees under the evening stars. After dinner, guests made their way into the wine cave where there were spectacular desserts and other formalities like the first dance, cake cutting, and more!
We had such a great time spending the weekend with Tina and Michael. Their friends and family were so sweet and everyone helped us to get amazing shots. At some points, the couple’s friends would help me get the bride and groom for portraits and sometimes would even help by holding the flash for a shot or two. We really appreciate that and look forward to Michael and Tina at their friend’s weddings or even their children’s weddings, in the future!
