Ami had her Mehndi done at her parent’s home in Fremont two days before her wedding. Friends and family came over to have drinks and eat good food and just hang out. It was great to see the two families interact and have a nice informal time together. Ravie Kattaura, one of the Bay Area’s best Mehndi artists came to do the bride’s Mehndi and we got a ton of great shots.
We love photographing Mehndi events in the Bay Area because it is a great chance for us to get to know the friends and family of the bride prior to the wedding. In this case though, we already knew Ami’s family as we had photographed her sisters wedding a couple years ago. Nevertheless, it is always a fun experience being there while the bride is excited getting her Mehndi. It is one of those times where getting married really “hits them” and then it becomes way more real!
