2016 has been amazing for us thus far! One of our favorites has been this wedding right here! Sheela and Nikhil’s traditional Indian wedding at Fairmont San Jose was amazing in every way!
Starting with the couple, when you are with these two, you know they are truly made for one another. They get along like they have been together for years. Nikhil is so caring and gentle and he is really an awesome guy for Sheela. Sheela is an amazing person and is very thoughtful and sweet. You can’t ask for a better combination than these two!
We were fortunate enough to work with Sheela’s family before, when her sister Nisha, married Rishi at the same venue just a short time before Sheela’s wedding. It is such an amazing honor to be invited back to capture this wonderful family again. As much as we love meeting new people at weddings every weekend, it is also very comforting when you pretty much know everyone already.
My friend Christal did Sheela’s hair and makeup and I think this is her best work ever. Sheela looked stunning. We could not stop photographing her because we were having so much fun! Meanwhile, the guys were chilling and drinking and have a good time. Typical stuff! What amazes me is how talented all of them are. Many of them are awesome singers and put on a show the night before at the Sangeet. I was pretty blown away by their amazing talent.
We are big on getting ready shots! We love them to death and it is probably one of our most favorite parts of the day. Sheela had all her girls come in matching robes and do a champagne toast before they put on their Sarees for the wedding. Candid shots of them hanging out are beautiful and each bridesmaid got their own solo shot while they were looking amazing on this day. I think that if you are getting your hair and makeup done, you have a cute and sexy robe on, you have amazing natural light coming through the window, and an awesome photographer that knows how to make the subject feel comfortable and beautiful, why not get an amazing shot of yourself?
What I think makes this wedding most memorable for us comes down to just how much fun everything was. We felt very supported by our couple to tell the story however we wanted to. They were up to try anything and really just super awesome and easy going. We will never forget all these beautiful moments and cannot wait to see Sheela and Nikhil again at future events!
