We had the pleasure of capturing this South Indian engagement ceremony at the Quinlan Community Center in Cupertino, CA this winter. Even though it was really cold during this time of year we had beautiful cherry blossoms outside!
We only took a few minutes for portraits because once the couple arrived it was already so late that the families pulled them away. This is very common for Indian events so you have to be quick and get your shots because you are not given much time to get what you want.
The event was very traditional with all the rituals guided by a Hindu priest. These traditions I think will eventually go away so it is nice to see and experience them because I am not sure how much longer people will continue to do all these things.
