This was an amazing multi-day fusion Indian and American wedding that took place over several cities from El Sobrante to Sonoma and beyond.
On this beautiful morning, both the bride and groom got ready at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Hotel before heading to El Sobrante Gurdwara for their Sikh wedding ceremony. We had the most amazing light in the morning during Akshjot’s getting ready. We have these amazing photos of her putting on her bridal lengha and doing her choora ceremony and portraits before we headed out to the temple.
It is so amazing to see the two different cultures come together between Americans and Indians. The Americans seem to love the Sikh tradition so much, and we’re so happy to take part in all the ceremonies.
We really like shooting at this El Sobrante Gurdwara because there is a second level you can get some shots from, and the lighting is pretty good in there. We also like to use our flashes to create our signature look for some wide epic shots of the bride and groom.
After the ceremony, there’s a secret spot I like to go to up the street, and it’s a really good spot for photos. It’s literally two minutes away from the temple. We got really good portraits of the couple together, and we’re so happy that we captured those before we headed back to the hotel.
The couple really loved our wedding documentary style because it is really natural. It’s really just easygoing and flowing, and we give good direction. The couple loved how the photos turned out.
